Job Description

This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled. There is currently 1 position open at Oceanside High School. This is a 7 hour/day, 10 month position. This position is uniquely funded through a categorical, restricted fund. Positions supported by categorical funds are contingent upon the ongoing allocation and availability of those specific monies. In the event that these categorical funds are reduced, eliminated, or if the district's allocation changes, your position may be subject to modification, reduction, or release at the close of the current funding cycle. We would follow appropriate procedures regarding employment and apply contractual and Education Codes regarding seniority. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of duties in support of visitors to the Wellness Center; provide information and guidance to those who need additional support; provide organizational support for wellness-related services, school events, and partnerships; schedule student appointments; and assist with documentation and data collection. This is a grant funded position.

Requirements / Qualifications

Training and Experience Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of experience working with students and families. Knowledge of Student program objectives and functions. Maintaining an assigned space in a safe and orderly manner. Local community resources and social services agencies. Purpose, goals, and objectives of public education. Factors that impact student participation and achievement in school. Applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations. English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Operation of a computer and assigned software. Basic record-keeping, reporting, and filing techniques. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Ability to Assist students, individually or in small groups. Monitor students in a variety of settings. Maintain a safe and orderly environment. Compose correspondence independently. Plan, organize, and prioritize a variety of work assignments. Work independently with little direction. Maintain records and files. Compile data and provide reports. Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and assigned software and applications. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
