CACI is preparing for an exciting modernization effort with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This new program will be a transformational initiative that will reshape how the VA manages acquisition, contracting, and enterprise-wide data. We are currently hiring Appian Configuration Analysts (Junior Developer/Developer) to join this dynamic team.

The Appian Configuration Analysts (Junior Developer/Developer) will configure and optimize Appian-based solutions within Agile delivery pods supporting an enterprise acquisition system modernization. This role requires strong technical skills in low-code platform configuration, experience with business process automation, and the ability to work collaboratively with developers and business analysts to deliver user-friendly workflows serving 26,000+ users transitioning to a unified Appian-based platform.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

• Configure Appian GAM Suite modules including workflows, business rules, decision tables, forms, interfaces, and user experience components to meet Federal acquisition requirements
• Collaborate with Appian developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into technical Appian configurations
• Build and maintain configurable components including clause libraries, questionnaire logic, milestone templates, approval routing, and document generation templates
• Support development of reusable Appian objects, interfaces, data types, and expression rules to accelerate delivery and promote consistency
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives, contributing to sprint commitments and velocity
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying configuration patterns, reusable components, and process optimizations
• Conduct unit testing of configured components and support integration testing, UAT, and defect resolution activities
• Document configuration decisions, technical specifications, and user-facing guidance to support knowledge transfer and maintenance
• Optimize Appian performance through configuration best practices, caching strategies, and efficient workflow design
• Support deployment activities including package preparation, environment promotion, and release validation

Qualifications:
Required:

• US Citizen with ability to pass Tier 2 background investigation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field of study (3 additional years of relevant IT experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
• Junior Developer : 1-3 years of experience in software configuration, business process automation, or low-code platform development
• Developer : 3-5 years of exprience in software configuration, business process automation, or low-code platform development
• Experience with low-code/no-code platforms or business process management tools
• Strong understanding of workflow automation, business rules, and process modeling concepts
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical configurations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Desired:

• Appian Certified Analyst or Appian Certified Associate Developer certification
• Hands-on experience with Appian platform configuration (process models, interfaces, decision rules, records, sites)
• Experience supporting Federal government system modernization programs
• Knowledge of Federal acquisition lifecycle, contracting processes, or FAR/VAAR regulations
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint-based delivery
• Prior experience with API integrations, web services, or system interfaces
• SQL knowledge for data querying and validation
• Familiarity with Federal financial management or ERP systems
• Experience with Azure cloud environments or SaaS application configuration
• Background in user experience design or Section 508 accessibility standards
• Scripting or programming experience (JavaScript, Java, Python) for advanced Appian configuration

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$69,100-$141,500
