Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a fast-paced medical unit. Deliver comprehensive patient assessments, administer treatments, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans for oncology patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, medications, and other treatments following established protocols.
• Operate unit-specific equipment such as IV pumps, NG tubes, and specialty beds.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and document findings accurately in electronic medical records.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, medication management, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NY RN license with verification in NURSYS and all relevant licenses.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent experience in medical-surgical or oncology units.
• Demonstrate current American Heart Association BLS, NIHSS, and chemotherapy certification.
• Possess a valid driver's license with address matching demographics.
• Be proficient in Epic EMR documentation and procedures.
• Have reliable transportation for local travel if applicable.
