About the Position

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required. No call requirement. Float coverage required based on census needs.

Highlights:

• Specialized orthopedic and joint surgery unit with 48 beds and average daily census of 34 patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1 providing optimal care delivery
• Focus on total joint replacements, spinal fusions, hip fractures, and orthopedic trauma with occasional medical overflow
• Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Contract length of 16+ weeks available through February 27, 2027
• Experience with specialized equipment including wound vacs and drainage systems

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical Orthopedic nursing experience required
• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of rapid response/code teams
• IV therapy skills including peripheral line care and management
• Respiratory management skills including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with total joint replacement procedures
• Spinal surgery experience
