General Manager

Responsibilities Manage overall property operation, financial performance, reporting, and tenant relationships. Define asset direction by understanding owner and tenant requirements, managing staff, contractors, vendors, and staying current on trends and best practices. Lead a team across disciplines to deliver ClassA+ operational service including accounting, tenant relations, maintenance, security, janitorial, landscaping, etc. Provide excellent customer service to tenants and guests through proactive, results‑driven interactions and the Related Customer Experience program. Continuously assess the asset and its resources, identify priorities, and recommend strategies to improve operational performance and service. Assess operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies; advise senior management of issues/opportunities with economic consequence. Conduct periodic inspections to ensure lease compliance and proper upkeep; enforce tenant adherence to rules, regulations, and national codes. Maintain management, property, and lease files in accordance with company policy and legal requirements. Manage tenant experience from new tenant onboarding through lease life, including communication, response to concerns, maintenance resolution, and support for corporate initiatives. Create and implement base building SOPs and best practices so all building functions understand duties and responsibilities. Lead operational procurement and contracting—bid processes, negotiation, and service delivery—aligned with portfolio initiatives. Coordinate with the Director of Engineering on large‑scale capital projects to maintain and enhance property value. Work with Marketing to manage special events and tenant engagement activities. Lead expense management, continually assess contracts and services. Create annual budgets, analyze financial statements, prepare variance reports, and perform reforecasts. Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization, ensuring honest, timely, and transparent communication. Deliver high‑standard results while managing legal and safety considerations. Qualifications Minimum10years of Operations Management experience. Desirable experience with ClassA commercial assets. Desirable experience in the hospitality industry or background. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Understanding of property management issues. Leadership ability to guide a diverse team. Proficiency in written assignments, reports, proofreading, and editing. Experience maximizing operating and financial performance. Strong organization, multi‑tasking, and time‑management skills. Strong character and work ethic. Clear decision‑making capabilities.
