Commercial & Residential Lead Fabricator – Lead Metal Fabrication Projects with All Weather Contractors

Job Overview

• Company: All Weather Contractors
• Salary/Pay Rate: $30 to $36 per hour, plus the opportunity to work prevailing wage jobs as well as ESOP and the opportunity to receive bonuses twice a year based on both company and individual performance.

The Opportunity

You will serve as a key technical leader guiding metal fabrication, welding, assembly, and repair projects across commercial and multi-family sites. This role allows you to combine advanced technical craftsmanship with hands-on crew leadership to mentor team members and deliver high-quality custom metalwork. You will thrive in a dynamic environment that values creative problem-solving, structural integrity, and dedicated teamwork.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to team members on advanced fabrication techniques and safety protocols.
• Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine exact fabrication dimensions and material needs.
• Fabricate, fit, weld, and assemble structural metal components, including stairs, railings, fencing, and gates.
• Measure, cut, drill, grind, and finish steel, aluminum, and stainless steel materials using specialized shop equipment.
• Apply creative problem-solving to overcome nonstandard field fabrication challenges and execute practical structural solutions.
• Inspect finished metal assemblies for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, structural integrity, and project compliance.
• Communicate work progress, technical requirements, and material needs directly with division leadership and project managers.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Driver's License and AWS Certification.
• Minimum of 6 years of advanced hands-on experience in metal fabrication, fitting, structural welding, and repair.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Demonstrated proficiency in various welding processes across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel materials.
• Advanced capability to independently read and interpret blueprints, fabrication schematics, and project specifications.
• Physical ability to perform heavy labor, including standing for up to 8 hours daily and lifting up to 70 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Proven history of mentoring, guiding, or supervising welders, fabricators, and shop helpers.
• Extensive background taking precise field measurements for nonstandard architectural fabrication challenges.
• Demonstrated experience managing property maintenance or multi-family renovation fabrication workflows.
