Howard Law Group is seeking an experienced First Legal Foreclosure Paralegal to join our growing creditor's rights practice.

Recent creditor-side mortgage foreclosure experience is required. We are looking for a candidate who already understands the Florida foreclosure process and can manage files from referral through complaint, service, and default with minimal training.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced foreclosure professional who takes ownership of their files, understands client timelines, and knows how to keep a high-volume caseload moving.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

• Manage creditor-side foreclosure files from referral through completion at First Legal

• Review new referrals and loan documentation for completeness and accuracy

• Review title reports and identify parties in interest, liens, encumbrances, and potential title issues

• Review notes, mortgages, assignments, allonges, and other collateral documents

• Prepare foreclosure complaints and amended complaints for attorney review

• Prepare summonses, notices, affidavits, and other foreclosure documents

• Coordinate and monitor service of process

• Review returns of service and determine the appropriate next action

• Prepare motions for clerk and judicial defaults

• Obtain and review SCRA/military searches and other required due diligence

• Monitor deadlines, client timelines, and First Legal milestones

• Identify title, service, collateral, bankruptcy, probate, or other issues requiring attorney attention

• Maintain accurate file notes and client system updates

• Complete client tasks, status requests, and reporting requirements timely

• Ensure compliance with client guidelines, investor requirements, court rules, and firm procedures

• Work closely with attorneys, process servers, vendors, clients, and other foreclosure team members

• Consistently move files forward while maintaining strong quality and accuracy standards

Qualifications:

Required:

• Recent creditor-side mortgage foreclosure experience

• Working knowledge of the Florida judicial foreclosure process

• Hands-on experience with First Legal, including complaints, service, and defaults

• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to recognize issues, determine the appropriate next step, and escalate matters when attorney review is needed

Preferred:

• 2+ years of creditor-side foreclosure experience

• Experience reviewing title reports and foreclosure collateral

• CaseAware experience

• Experience with LPS, Tempo, Noteflow, Legal Tracker, or similar mortgage servicing/client systems

• Experience working with mortgage lenders, servicers, and investors

The Right Candidate:

We are not simply looking for someone who completes assigned tasks. We want a paralegal who owns their files from the beginning to the end of the First Legal process.

You should be comfortable reviewing a file, identifying what needs to happen next, spotting potential problems, and taking appropriate action to keep the foreclosure moving forward.
