HR Specialist - Talent Acquisition & Leaves of Absence

This role blends strategic thinking with day-to-day execution and it's perfect for someone who's ready to make a meaningful impact.This is a hybrid role, in-office days will be based out of the Administrative Office.Key Responsibilities:Provide hands-on HR support across key HR functions with a focus on Talent Acquisition, Leave of Absence, and Employee Relations.Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with HR team to identify talent and culture initiatives in support of WHA Values and culture goals.Screens applications and resumes, coordinates phone/virtual/in-person interviews.Promotes a high-quality candidate experience.Consults with hiring managers and other key stakeholders to fill open positions and makes recommendations on appropriate candidates for the position.Leaves of Absence: Consults with employees and managers on leaves of absence and accommodations and manages LOA processes.Manages the leave administration process from the employees initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, OFLA, PLO and other state and local laws.May field requests for medical accommodations and engages in the interactive process.Employee Relations: Consult with managers and employees to ensure a positive and productive workplace.
