RSU #38 Maranacook Area Schools A Caring School Community Dedicated to Excellence Job Posting: Finance Director - Full-Time/Central Office RSU #38 is hiring an experienced Finance Director to lead the district's finance department. We are looking for a motivated candidate with experience in budget development and management, strong written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in financial software applications. RSU #38 is located in the beautiful Kennebec Valley area close to many lakes. RSU #38 comprises 6 schools: 4 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. The district has a total annual budget of roughly $24M. We are looking for a strong candidate to join our team of professionals as we work together to support students. Job Goal: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the district's financial affairs in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available. To ensure that the school district derives maximum benefits from the prudent expenditure of school funds. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Minimum of 5 years successful experience in one of the above fields, including at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity Significant experience in school district or public sector finance, budgeting, and payroll administration Strong working knowledge of Maine public school finance law, collective bargaining agreements, and state compliance frameworks Demonstrated experience with financial and HR information systems Proven track record leading internal and external financial audits Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing materials for school boards and community audiences Collaboration skills High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail in handling confidential financial and personnel information Salary Range: $71,000 - $96,000 Certification: Holds current Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check Application Deadline: August 21, 2026 or until a suitable candidate is found. #J-18808-Ljbffr
