Job Title – Lab Technician / R&D Hardware Test Technician

Location – 106 Roche Drive, Durham, NC, 27703

Duration – 12 months contract

Pay Range – $35 - $39 USD hourly on W2

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lab Technician / R&D Hardware Test Technician to support the development, testing, and validation of pharmacy automation devices and electro-mechanical systems. The role involves hands-on prototype fabrication, hardware/software troubleshooting, verification testing, test documentation, and engineering support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform physical, chemical, mechanical, and reliability testing of prototypes and subsystems.
• Configure equipment, execute test plans, collect/analyze data, and prepare test reports.
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical hardware and software issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Fabricate prototypes, wiring harnesses, and PCB assemblies as needed.
• Maintain test systems, lab equipment, inventory, and a safe/organized 5S lab environment.

Requirements:

• 2-year technical degree in engineering, electronics, physics, mechanical technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of relevant industry, equipment, or reliability lab experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with test documentation and electrical schematics.
• Soldering, CAD (SolidWorks/Creo/ProE), LabVIEW, Minitab, and reliability testing experience are a plus.
• Ability to safely lift up to 45 lbs and use a pallet jack.
