Teller (Full Time) - Houston, Heights

TELLER (FULL TIME) – HOUSTON, HEIGHTS

Full‑time Teller position located in the Heights neighborhood of Houston, TX. The role is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and negotiable instruments while promoting bank products and providing excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Represent the bank with a courteous and professional manner. Receive and process deposits, loan payments, and transfers between accounts. Cash checks and other negotiable instruments and verify their endorsements. Sell traveler’s checks, official checks, money orders, and credit card cash advances. Verify and balance cash daily, detect and resolve discrepancies promptly. Offer bank products and services to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships. Operate online teller terminal and maintain customer information privacy. Follow teller procedures consistently and adhere to compliance requirements. Assist area personnel, assist with training or orientation, keep supervisor informed of activities and problems. Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly. Attend meetings and training sessions, which may occur on weekdays, evenings, and/or Saturdays. Perform night drop functions and related clerical duties as assigned. Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained; cross‑sell bank products and services. Maintain a proof‑error rate of no more than one within a 30‑day period.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Required Knowledge: Understanding of bank operations preferred. Experience: At least one year of cash‑handling or teller experience preferred. Skills/Abilities: Good communication, professional appearance, strong math and typing skills, and ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment. Physical Requirements: Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.; regular use of hands, fingers, and wrists. Mental Requirements: Ability to perform basic math, use common sense, and communicate clearly.
