Role Overview We are seeking an Assistant Controller for our Credit Platform, based in either Coral Gables, Boca Raton, or New York. In a senior capacity, the role will manage and oversee several distressed‑debt funds, leading both local and offshore teams. The candidate will work with complex fund structures and investments across Europe and the U.S., and will play a key role in shaping day‑to‑day team operations. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving monthly/quarterly accounting closes and financial reporting for Credit Funds, leading high‑profile projects, and coordinating with Investment, Operations, Valuation, Tax, Investor Services, Treasury, and Capital Formation teams. Responsibilities

• Train and supervise onshore and offshore teams, providing development opportunities and ensuring cohesive collaboration.
• Research and propose solutions to improve process and reporting efficiency, validating system enhancements.
• Monitor all investments and analyze performance; engage with investment and origination professionals on inquiries.
• Review and approve quarterly financial reports, compliance and investor reporting, ensuring adherence to governing documents, GAAP, credit facility and SEC requirements.
• Assist the Controller in determining appropriate accounting decisions based on new or proposed guidance.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity for the funds to optimize IRR for LPs; monitor deal pipelines and credit facilities.
• Review and provide feedback on fund legal agreements (PPMs, LPAs, investor letters). Model new waterfalls, management fees, carried interest, and other fund‑specific calculations.
• Review call/distribution notices, credit line draw/paydown notices, partner capital statements, and quarterly investor letters; liaise with Investor Services.
• Summarize responses to periodic investor requests and questions.
• Work with the valuation team to determine fair value of investments; document changes in valuation periods.
• Identify key drivers of fund profitability and analyze actual results versus projections.
• Provide senior management with timely updates on performance, key events, and escalations.
• Plan and execute year‑end audits for assigned funds.
• Coordinate with the Tax Team to compile tax information.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including credit facility providers, banks, and auditors.
• Oversee complex fund features such as rebalancing/equalization, foreign‑currency hedges, derivatives, line‑of‑borrowing calculations, and IRR sensitivity analyses.
• Assist with special projects, internal ad‑hoc requests, and office initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills

• Undergraduate or post‑graduate degree in accounting.
• 10‑15 years of experience in alternative investments, private industry, or public accounting.
• CPA highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of investment company financial reporting.
• Experience with distressed debt, credit instruments, foreign investments, or originated loans is preferred.
• Knowledge or exposure to Investran, Virtual Portfolio Manager (VPM), or similar portfolio accounting systems is a plus.
