Stony Brook University: Health Sciences: Renaissance School of Medicine: Internal Medicine: Gastroenterology and Hepatology Stony Brook University School of Medicine, State University of New York, invites applications for a full-time GI Hospitalist faculty position in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Deadline Sep 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description Stony Brook Medicine is the flagship medical enterprise of the State University of New York, providing patient care, education, and research in a 624‑bed tertiary care hospital and affiliated institutions. The Hospitalist position will work in a 603‑bed tertiary care center in Suffolk County, Long Island, as part of a highly trained GI team of 12 specialists and 13 fellows. Position Details Full‑time inpatient GI hospitalist at Stony Brook University Hospital. 24 inpatient GI consult weeks per year (Monday‑Friday only). Minimal weekend and night coverage. Inpatient team includes gastroenterology fellows and advanced practice providers. Work‑life integration is a priority. Facilities State‑of‑the‑art endoscopy unit with dedicated inpatient procedure time and an ambulatory care pavilion located on campus. Required Qualifications MD (or foreign equivalent). Board Certified in Internal Medicine, with board certification or board evaluation in Gastroenterology. Experience in clinical care and teaching. Skilled in a variety of endoscopic procedures. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the gastroenterological care of patients admitted to the hospital. Special Notes Tenure/Non‑Tenure Track position. FLSA exempt. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine. Anticipated start date: as soon as possible.
