Heavy Civil Estimator
Seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for utility, site work, and public/private infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has strong estimating and field experience with underground utilities, earthwork, and roadwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed heavy civil estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals.
- Review RFQs, RFPs, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, owners, and project teams.
- Develop project schedules and support bid submissions.
- Conduct site visits and assist with proposal development.
- Use HCSS estimating software and related tools.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy civil/site work and utility experience.
- 3+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor.
- Strong knowledge of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, earthwork, and roadwork.
- Public works experience in New York/New Jersey strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with NYSDOT, NYCDDC, and NYCDEP specifications preferred.
- HCSS experience preferred; strong ability to learn quickly.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, leadership, and time-management skills.
- Must be able to commute to Brooklyn daily.
