SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Job Title Supervises personnel in the installation and maintenance of voice, data, and video network and telecommunications systems. Description Supervises personnel in the installation and maintenance of microwave, fiber optic, multiplex, two-way radio, telephone, LAN (local area network)/WAN (wide area network), audio/visual, and related network and telecommunications systems. Examples Of Duties Supervises the installation and maintenance of microwave, fiber optic, multiplex, two-way radio, telephone, LAN (local area network)/WAN (wide area network), audio/visual, and related network and telecommunications systems Prepares purchase requisitions to procure equipment, materials, and supplies Checks to ensure that service requests, work orders, and job specifications are done in a timely manner Communicates with user departments to ensure proper IT (Information Technology) support is provided, and to notify them of problems and status of work in progress Inspects all work in progress and completed projects Diagnoses complex maintenance problems, initiates repairs, or recommends corrective action Implements preventive maintenance programs for equipment Coordinates and administers technical training programs for staff Instructs subordinates on safety practices and enforces safety regulations Reviews design criteria and specifications for new systems Administers services contracts and ensures they meet standards Keeps log of shift activities, maintains records, and reports for monthly activities and personnel Prepares comprehensive reports and correspondence Supervises, coaches, and motivates subordinates Accounts for subordinates and personal compliance with all of Metro's safety rules, polices, and procedures May be required to perform other related job duties Minimum Qualifications A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis.
