Job Title: Instructor, Community & Workplace Education Programs Employment Classification: 1099 contract Hours: Flexible Scheduling & Remote Work Available Reports To: Community Impact Officer Job Summary: MindSpring Mental Health Alliance is currently seeking a part‑time instructor to lead mental health education workshops for community members and businesses. Workshops and classes are non‑credit sessions, typically scheduled on weekdays during normal business hours, with regular sessions Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm Central Time. Under limited supervision, the instructor is responsible for teaching in their area of expertise and ensuring all participants meet the objectives of the course. Provide exemplary customer service through positive class interaction, answering attendee’s questions, and maintaining an inviting learning experience with a positive and upbeat attitude. Goals of Mindspring’s Community Education and Mental Health in the Workplace programs To create opportunities for community conversations that expand an informed and productive understanding of mental health, decrease stigma about mental illness, and increase participants’ capacity to support people in recovery. To increase awareness of available support services for people living with a mental health condition and share where/how to access these services within a community. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Studies, Sociology or related field and licensure (LMHC, LISW, LMSW, LPCC, LMFT or OTR/L) is required. Prior experience in public speaking and strong presentation skills required. Experience in adult learning and/or the facilitation of educational programs for adults preferred. Ability to work flexible hours. Access to broadband internet. Duties and Responsibilities Lead dynamic workshops utilizing Mindspring’s program curriculum during normal business hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours. Deliver course content and ensure that learning outcomes are met. Effectively communicate with program participants and Mindspring staff. Maintain a working knowledge of community resources. Answer questions and provide resource information as appropriate to participants. Administer surveys during each workshop to support the data collection requirements of funding agencies. Complete any additional required paperwork as requested by Mindspring staff. Attend bi‑monthly committee meetings to discuss program outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and plan for future course sessions. Perform other related work duties as assigned. Manage problems responsibly and effectively, and exercise independent judgment when making decisions.
