Fixed Asset Analyst

Did you complete your 4-year degree in Accounting and have a grasp on GAAP and month-end close?  Do you have a background in fixed assets or were drawn to that portion of your education? You must have a solid understanding of the theory of capitalization of assets vs. operational expenses of assets.  Have you honed in on your Excel skills and consider yourself a power user of v-lookups, pivot tables, formula creation, macros, and formulas consistently with massive amounts of data and for report creation?  If you have the listed skills and desire to work for an evolving, growing, dynamic global company and love being part of something evolving quickly, we want to talk to you!  The plant build-out is close to the "going live" date!  The chosen candidate must be eager, inquisitive, analytical, and communicative.  You will be charged with collaborating with engineers, project managers, the factory controller, and stakeholders.  It is an ideal role for the entrepreneurial accountant! You will not only be using your technical accounting knowledge and capitalization accounting experience, you will interact with multiple individuals within this global company and work on special development projects.  This is currently slated as a 10 - 12 month onsite contract with tons of exposure within a growing, fluid global company!

salary: $32 - $35 per hour

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the tracking, documenting, and analysis of fixed asset data for a  global and evolving plant site
• Capitalize or write-off assets for all factory purchase orders for a plant in the ready to "go-live" stage
• Collect all the necessary documentation and data for all the new plant equipment to be capitalized
• Follow the well-laid-out approval process put into place and proactively connect with the proper approvers to move the process along
• Work closely with the engineers to gather information and gain knowledge of the plant equipment
• Ensure all equipment has the proper stickers attached to them
• Document, record, and report on the equipment in accordance with GAAP and the company's capitalization policies
• Prepare monthly accrual reports for the Factory Controller and Project Manager
• Prepare and maintain capital accounting account reconciliations
• Help maintain governance of capital accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Support the review of capital business case projects to ensure appropriate capitalization and expense activities
• Assist with internal and external audit activities related to capital accounting
• Maintain organized records and documentation related to capital assets
