VP of Operations – Construction (Subcontractor)
Role Overview
Stardom Employment Consultants is seeking a strategic VP of Operations to lead project management and operational performance for a construction subcontractor. This senior leader will oversee project management staff, strengthen execution across projects, and partner with company leadership to support safe, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop project managers and other operations staff.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgets, labor coordination, and delivery across active projects.
- Monitor project performance, resolve escalated issues, and keep work aligned with contract requirements and company standards.
- Establish consistent processes for estimating handoffs, project controls, reporting, and closeout.
- Collaborate with preconstruction, finance, field leadership, and executive teams to align resources and priorities.
- Promote jobsite safety, quality, productivity, and strong customer relationships.
- Identify operational risks and opportunities to improve profitability and performance.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in construction operations, ideally with a subcontractor.
- Proven leadership experience managing project managers and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgets, schedules, change orders, and project controls.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and deliver projects to financial and operational targets.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with construction project management and scheduling tools.
- Relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience preferred.
