Billing Specialist

Kforce's client, a growing organization in Northern New Jersey is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join its accounting team. Summary: This role is heavily focused on billing activities (approximately 80%) with additional responsibilities supporting collections and accounts receivable functions (20%). The ideal candidate will have strong invoicing experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and process recurring customer invoices
• Manage contract and maintenance agreement billing
• Ensure invoice accuracy and timely issuance
• Handle high-volume billing activity during peak periods
• Track contract renewals and maintenance agreements
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, account balances, and billing issues
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies
• Assist with collections activities and follow up on outstanding receivables
• Maintain accurate customer account records and billing documentation
• Partner with internal sales and operational teams to ensure services and projects are billed correctly
• 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or collections experience
• Strong understanding of invoice processing and customer account management
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and interact professionally with customers
• Experience managing recurring billing and high-volume transactions preferred
