Assistant Merchant

Description of Duties Title: Assistant Merchant Classification: Non-Exempt Hourly Range*: $28.85-$33.65/hr Location: Van Nuys, CA (HQ) Schedule*: Hybrid, 9:00AM-5:30PM (in office minimum 3 days/week – Mon, Tues and Thurs required) We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Merchant to join us at our corporate office in Van Nuys. This position reports to the Merchandising Manager and will directly support business growth by providing data analysis and trend insight to help shape future product lines and drive performance of existing lines. While the role is Merchandising-focused, it will encompass elements of Buying and Planning as well. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist merchandising director in all aspects of assortment planning for DTC and wholesale Upload merchandising hierarchy and other attributes into ERP system, ensure data accuracy and update changes daily. Upload retail and wholesale prices in ERP system for upcoming product launches. Partner with ecommerce team on international pricing process and system via global-e platform prices are ready; new merch team will likely need to work closely w/ ecomm on global-e Support flow of information from product teams to buying, sales and planning teams. Aggregate and interpret sales performance data from DTC and Wholesale to provide an omni point of view to internal teams and leadership Partner with production team to chase deliveries of key product. Manage Merchandising & Planning department calendar and flag upcoming key milestones to team. Pull ad hoc reporting to support merchandising decisions. Work with product team on maintaining integrity of product names Skills and Abilities Highly detail oriented Strong analytical skills and a natural penchantfor numbers Ability and natural drive to create and maintain organization within the department Passion for product and trend awareness Good judgment, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style High integrity and positive attitude Ability to communicate effectively with team members of different backgrounds and skill sets, cultural experience Passionate about working for an inclusive, values driven brand A high level of ownership, accountability and initiative Ability to work autonomously, take initiative and exercise discretion Ability to prioritize competing projects and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Action oriented and results driven Qualifications 1 year experiencein a Merchandising or Buying role (internships included) Bachelor’s Degree required Must be proficient in Excel (vlookups and pivot tables) with an understanding and prior use of retail math NetSuite experience a plus Physical Requirements Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation. Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer. Able to life/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs. Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time. Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones. Must be able to access various areas of a given location.
