JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer the Medical Staff Services Manager is responsible for management and coordination of any and all duties and services of the Medical Staff Office, including but not limited to supervision, training, coordination, delegation, performance management and assessment of direct reports in the execution of provider credentialing and reappointments. The Manager will interact in-person via email and/or telephone with a variety of internal and external colleagues in the process of credentialing and re-credentialing applications and renewals for all providers. Other duties include supervision of applications and preparation of verification letters. Ensure ongoing compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory requirements while supporting medical staff leadership and organizational strategy.

The Medical Staff Services Manager will serve as back-up for all responsibilities of support staff and will perform all other appropriately assigned duties from the CMO and/or any other leader.

Job Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited school with a major in a healthcare-related, legal, or business-related field preferred.

Experience

Minimum of three years of directly applicable experience required in healthcare credentialing, medical staff services, provider management, or related healthcare/legal setting. Examples may include a healthcare facility, managed care facility, credentials verification organization, medical staff office, clinic practice, or law office.

Any combination of education and experience that equates to a High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience in credentialing, medical staff services, supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, or related law office experience may be considered.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with credentialing accreditation by The Joint Commission or National Committee for Quality Assurance preferred.

Demonstrated working knowledge of the healthcare and credentialing industry preferred, including medical-legal issues and laws, regulatory agencies, and other national standards.

Familiarity with medical records navigation, including Meditech and Athena preferred
Familiarity with medical staff credentialing and privileging software systems preferred

Certifications/Licenses

CPCS, Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist, preferred.

CPMSM, Certified Professional Medical Services Management, preferred.
