Overnight Valet Cashier - JW Marriott Turnberry

The Cashier is responsible for accurately collecting and reconciling revenue while providing exceptional hospitality services to all guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Compensation and Schedule Hourly base pay: $16.50 per hour. Work schedule: Overnight shifts (11pm–7am). Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible for benefits. Essential Functions Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers and clients. Acknowledges and greets guests immediately while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor; addresses guests using last names when appropriate. Maintains accuracy and composure while under pressure; uses proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Assists guests with directions and all other inquiries; provides information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility and main attractions. Determines guest charges and processes payments via cash, credit, or direct billing; accurately categorizes tickets for audit purposes; collects and reconciles revenue accurately and furnishes payment receipts. Completes accurate and timely shift reports; follows all standard operating procedures related to cash banks; operates equipment, including registers, gates, and credit card machines; obtains information about daily events and rates to be charged. Completes all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Lead Cashier/Account Manager. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and Skills: Basic math skills: read, write, and perform calculations with three‑digit numbers, multiplication and division with tens and hundreds; perform operations with U.S. money units. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence. Effective presentation of information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to guests, clients, and employees. Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems. Understanding of rates applicable to time passed. Standard English reading and writing proficiency. Licensure, Certification: None required. Authority to Act The job is fairly routine with established practices and procedures. Incumbent follows specified directions; decisions are made within operational instructions; mistakes could affect departmental efficiency. Budget Responsibility The employee has control over resources available only. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Work is performed outdoors for extended periods; subject to extreme heat and cold. Requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. May lift up to 50lb occasionally, 25lb frequently, or >10lb constantly.
