Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients across age groups in the L&D unit, including infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric considerations.
- Accurately administers and controls narcotics and medications; administers IV fluids per policy and procedure.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, using age-appropriate techniques, and document findings, plans, interventions, and patient responses in the chart.
- Develop and adjust individualized care plans, set priorities for nursing actions, and collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team; deliver patient and family education as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment; manage unit supplies and equipment; provide clear and concise shift reports and handoffs.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, applying clinical knowledge and professional judgment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements
- Ability to provide care across age groups (infant, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and to adapt care to developmental needs.
- Competence in administrating and managing medications, including narcotics, and IV fluids per unit policy.
- Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work a night-shift schedule and participate in a travel assignment with 12-hour shifts.
- Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance in the unit; ability to follow applicable policies and procedures.
