SMT Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an SMT Technician in Oldsmar, Florida for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports surface-mount production by performing touch-up soldering and visual inspection on SMT assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications. The role requires strong soldering ability, close attention to detail, and experience identifying solder defects in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing SMT touch-up after solder reflow
• Strong soldering skills
• SMT production experience
• Ability to perform touch-up soldering on SMT assemblies
• Ability to perform visual inspection to verify conformance with quality standards and customer specifications
• Ability to identify solder defects using a microscope
• Ability to use inspection equipment such as AOI
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to pass a required medical exam

What You'll Do

• Perform touch-up soldering on SMT assemblies
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality standards and customer specifications
• Identify solder defects using microscopes and other inspection equipment
• Use AOI and related tools to support defect detection and quality verification
• Support SMT production line quality and workmanship requirements

Work Schedule / Shift

• Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM EST
