Traveling Superintendent

The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing field operations on commercial construction projects across multiple locations for Self-Perform Concrete . This role requires extensive travel in the state of Florida and the ability to successfully manage projects from groundbreaking through final completion while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, scheduling, and client satisfaction. Primary Responsibilities Oversee all Self-Perform concrete jobsites Willingness to travel around the state of Florida Plan and supervise Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and/or craft activities includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, site logistics, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked. Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors. Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule. Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required. Assist Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc., as necessary. Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented. Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule. Review conceptual, schematic, and design development documents for constructability, phasing options, temporary protection requirements, site logistics, and other field construction issues. Recommend or evaluate construction options and efficiencies based on these reviews. Establish project site expectations for safety, quality, unforeseen conditions, housekeeping, and general conduct. Plan and coordinate site logistics, storage, staging locations and equipment locations. Qualifications and Skills 5+ years of Self-Perform Concrete experience 5+ years of traveling superintendent experience Possess the working competency with the following software: Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, Egnyte, and general knowledge of Autodesk Products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organized. Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing). Knowledge of communicative behavior and lead discussions, negotiations, provide feedback, manage conflicts, and provide a positive, motivating environment for the project team. Self-motivated, willing to learn, is a strong leader, and a team player can facilitate outcome through others. General understanding of US (United States) regulations, local and national codes, legislation, and industry trends. Position requires the ability to work in an organized manner in a fast-paced environment and manage time to meet deadlines. Strong ability to work with inspectors and has knowledge of local codes. Working conditions vary from that of a dry, well lighted, and tempered office only environment to a project jobsite office which may include high noise levels, extreme outdoor temperature, etc. Needs to be able to safely climb stairs and ladders and walk on uneven terrain.
