About the Role
The Company is in search of a VP, Credit Risk & Portfolio Strategy to spearhead the development and optimization of portfolio management strategies for its consumer lending portfolio. This leadership role is pivotal in driving portfolio performance, profitability, customer engagement, and risk management through a data-driven approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading initiatives in credit line management, retention, delinquency prevention, account growth, and overall portfolio profitability. A key aspect of the role is to monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to enhance risk-adjusted returns, as well as to partner with senior leadership in evaluating business performance and making strategic decisions. Applicants for the VP, Credit Risk & Portfolio Strategy position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in U.S. consumer lending, with a strong preference for those with a background in credit cards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in portfolio management, credit risk, and/or acquisition strategy, along with prior experience in people management. A strong understanding of portfolio profitability and P&L drivers is essential, as is proficiency in analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, or similar. The role requires a leader who can mentor a team of analysts, remain hands-on with strategy development and analytics, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, operations, finance, and risk.
