This position is remote, enabling you to provide quality mental health care from the comfort of your home while maintaining flexibility in your work schedule. Our operations typically follow a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate patient needs. As part of our organization, you will be supported by a collaborative team of professionals dedicated to fostering mental health awareness and improving community health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific circumstances.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, and families, employing a variety of modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.

• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups aimed at addressing common mental health issues, providing patients with a sense of community, and promoting shared learning.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to coordinate cohesive and holistic care for patients, ensuring that all aspects of their mental health are addressed.

• Respond to mental health crises by providing immediate support and intervention as needed, helping clients navigate difficult situations with compassion and professionalism.
\n
• Educate patients on mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to take an active role in their mental health journeys.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in accordance with legal requirements and ethical standards, ensuring comprehensive care continuity.

• Engage in ongoing professional development, attending team meetings and case consultations to share insights and improve therapeutic practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Union Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse clientele facing various mental health challenges, including mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. Our patient population ranges widely in age and background, offering you the chance to employ your skills in a variety of contexts while making a significant difference in their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts.

• Strong understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and best practices in therapeutic approaches.
\n
• Ability to conduct mental health assessments and create effective, individualized treatment strategies based on each client’s unique situation.
\n
• Experience providing therapy to individuals and groups, demonstrating an understanding of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and foster trust with clients and team members.
\n
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, alongside a general competence in using computer applications relevant to patient care.

• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork in providing patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• A background in delivering crisis intervention services or experience in acute mental health settings is highly desirable.

• Prior experience in working within community-based organizations or outpatient clinics.

• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and the nuances of providing virtual therapy sessions.

Compensation and Benefits\n
