About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a high-acuity 23-bed neuro/rehab unit with a primary focus on spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputees, burns, and multi-trauma patients
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6-7, with ratios potentially reaching 7 patients up to a few times per month
• Perform and oversee complex clinical skills including trach care, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, PICC and central line care, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, G-tube/PEG-tube feeds, and drain/tube management
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR ; administer medications via Omnicell dispensing and Plum 360 IV pumps
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including MDs, NPs, residents, PT/OT/ST, PCAs/CNAs, and unit coordinators
• Float within scope of practice as needed; travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kentucky or compact state eligibility
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency with high-acuity skills: trach care, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, central lines, PICC lines, wound care, TPN, and enteral feeding

• Prior experience in acute rehab, neuro, or medical-surgical settings with high-acuity patient populations
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Experience with laryngectomy care and pulmonary patients requiring tracheostomy management
• Travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers considered with appropriate approval
