Job Description

The Sourcing Consultant plays a critical role in managing end-to-end sourcing activities and supplier partnerships. This position is responsible for driving competitive sourcing events, developing effective procurement strategies, and optimizing cost, schedule, and risk across categories including labor, services, materials, and equipment. This individual partners closely with cross-functional teams to negotiate contracts, enhance supplier performance, and support category management initiatives while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing events (RFQs/RFPs) from initiation through supplier selection

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis

• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers

• Partner with legal and finance teams to support contract development and execution

• Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and continuous improvement efforts

• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including capacity and logistics challenges

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project stakeholders to align procurement efforts

• Provide market intelligence and insights to support broader commercial strategies

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing

• Strong background in contract negotiation and supplier management

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (6+ years in a related field)

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, including cross-functional collaboration

• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in category management within utilities, manufacturing, or construction industries

Work Environment

The work environment is fully onsite, with office hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, offering some flexibility in start and end times. The dress code is business casual, and the office setup is a cubicle environment. Employees enjoy a long-term opportunity with the potential for direct hire after three months, and they receive paid holidays including New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas, along with 2 weeks of paid time off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
