  • Fire suppression testing and maintenance (fire sprinklers, stand pipes, fire extinguishers).
  • Lead team workflow, guide safety policies and procedures, and assist staff with operational procedures.
  • Install and maintain plumbing, electrical, and mechanical fixtures; repair air conditioning, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, gates, and hydrants.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all types of mechanical equipment.
  • Emergency lighting testing.
  • Minor appliance repairs.
  • Develop solutions to repair and maintenance issues.
  • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches.

We're looking for someone with:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of experience as a journey-level worker in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work. (Experience in a trade may substitute for an apprenticeship).

Social Security
All state employees are covered by the federal Social Security and Medicare systems. The state and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness
If you are employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, and meet the qualifying criteria, you may be eligible to receive student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
