About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Government Affairs to play a pivotal role in strategic engagement with the U.S. Congress, Executive Branch, and State governments. The successful candidate will be responsible for amplifying the organization's impact on child protection by managing all aspects of federal appropriations and key clearinghouse programs and services. This includes responding to Congressional and oversight requests, developing and nurturing relationships with Congressional staff, and leading outreach initiatives to promote the organization's mission. The role also involves submitting annual appropriations requests, tracking legislation, and ensuring the organization's voice is heard in matters related to child protection. Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 5 years' Hill experience in senior roles, with a total of 10 years' in Hill and/or advocacy/legal experience. A deep understanding of Congressional processes, particularly in appropriations, and a proven track record of bipartisan relationship management are essential. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to the mission of the organization. The Executive Director will also be responsible for supervising a Government Affairs Policy Analyst and must have previous management experience. A background in nonprofit organizations is preferred, and the candidate should be prepared to register as a lobbyist for the organization.
