A day in the shop — Marshfield, WI 54449

Picture starting your shift by reviewing a new print, planning your setup, and choosing the right tools. You’ll bring CNC mills/lathes and manual machines online, dial in offsets, and run parts to spec. Throughout the day, you’ll inspect features with calipers and micrometers, make fine adjustments to maintain tight tolerances, and keep machines performing at their best with routine maintenance. You’ll collaborate with teammates to troubleshoot chips, chatter, or finish issues, keep your cell clean and safe, and document your work so the next run is even smoother.

• Set up and operate both CNC and conventional machines to produce precision components.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan tooling, sequences, and feeds/speeds.
• Monitor cycles, verify dimensions, and adjust programs/offsets to meet quality standards.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance to sustain optimal machine performance.
• Work with peers to diagnose and resolve machining challenges.
• Maintain a tidy, organized workstation and follow all safety practices.
• Record setups, production notes, and results with accurate documentation.

• High school diploma or equivalent; machining coursework or certification is a plus.
• Hands-on experience as a CNC or manual machinist.
• Solid knowledge of machining methods, tooling, and workholding.
• Ability to read and understand technical prints and process documents.
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach on the shop floor.
