We are looking to appoint a part time Human Resource Director to join our talented team. This role offers approximately 20 hours per week (around 4 hours per day) and is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on in a close-knit environment.

Our New York school is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Director to serve as a trusted advisor to school leadership and a champion for our people and culture. Reporting directly to the Principal, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Regional Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Director is a key member of the School Senior Leadership Team.

This is a highly hands-on HR leadership role. Working within a small team environment, you will be involved in all aspects of the employee experience, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations and performance management, payroll and benefits coordination, compliance and HR administration, employee engagement and retention, training and professional development, workforce planning and organizational support.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a matrix organization, collaborating with local leadership, regional teams, and shared services functions. Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compliance, and HR operations. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding. Experience working with HRIS (Success factors) and payroll systems (HR Connect), maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity. Ability to analyze HR data, prepare reports, and provide workforce insights to leaders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a hands-on environment. Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or Human Resources Director. Experience working in an independent school, educational institution, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organization. Experience supporting international employees, visa processes, or relocation matters. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification. Demonstrated ability to use HR metrics and analytics to drive decision-making and improve organizational performance. Passion for education and working in a purpose-led environment.

This position requires regular physical presence on the school campus and the ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment: This position is primarily based on-site at the school and requires regular presence on campus during normal business hours and school events. The employee will regularly interact with students, staff, parents, visitors, and external vendors in an active educational environment. Very occasional travel may be required for regional meetings, training, recruitment activities, and professional development.

If hired for this position, the annual salary part time position range is between $45,000 - $70,000. The salary offered may vary depending on your professional experience and skills.
