About Gen Studio Gen Studio is Gen’s in-house creative team within Marketing, Brand & Communications. It supports Gen’s portfolio of consumer brands by turning business, brand and product priorities into creative ideas and campaigns that reach customers across the full journey. Copywriters, designers, art directors, strategists and producers work together from the initial brief through concept development, execution and launch, rather than handing work between separate teams. The Studio works across brand, product and performance marketing, creating customer-facing work for advertising, digital, social and integrated campaigns. The team develops campaign platforms, messaging systems and channel content, then carries the work through design, production, legal and compliance review, testing and final delivery. It also partners with agencies, freelancers and production specialists when additional expertise or scale is needed. About the Job Gen Studio is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Copy to lead copy and conceptual thinking within this integrated team. The role will help shape campaign ideas across Gen’s consumer brands, set the standard for writing and messaging, and ensure creative work remains connected from the business brief through every customer touchpoint and final delivery. This role combines strategic thinking, conceptual development, writing craft and team leadership. You will partner closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, designers, producers, strategists, marketing stakeholders and external partners to carry work from brief through final delivery. You will develop campaign platforms, messaging frameworks, headlines, scripts, and long- and short-form copy across digital, social and integrated channels. You will lead constructive critique, present work to senior stakeholders and protect the strength of creative ideas while responding appropriately to feedback, business requirements and legal or compliance considerations. As a senior member of the creative team, you will help set the standard for copy and conceptual thinking, support the development of other creatives and ensure work is clear, distinctive, on-brand and relevant to its intended audience. Key Responsibilities Lead copy and conceptual development across brand, product and integrated marketing campaigns. Develop campaign platforms, messaging frameworks, creative territories and channel-specific copy. Write and oversee headlines, scripts, social copy, digital advertising, campaign content and other long- and short-form work. Translate business, brand and product objectives into clear creative ideas and messaging. Partner with Creative Directors and Art Directors to develop ideas that work cohesively across copy, design, motion and production. Lead creative reviews and provide clear, constructive direction to writers and cross-functional partners. Present concepts and creative recommendations to senior marketing and business stakeholders. Protect the core creative idea while incorporating relevant feedback and meeting business, brand, legal and compliance requirements. Guide work from initial brief and concept development through production and final delivery. Manage multiple campaigns and workstreams while maintaining consistency and quality. Support and develop copywriters through feedback, coaching and day-to-day creative direction. Partner with agencies, freelancers and production partners when additional support is required. Contribute to testing and iteration by developing different concepts, messages and copy variations. Stay current on consumer behaviour, platform changes, creative formats and developments in AI-assisted creative work. Use AI-assisted creative tools thoughtfully and responsibly to accelerate research synthesis, explore concepts, develop and test copy variations, and improve workflow efficiency across channels, while maintaining human judgment, originality and editorial craft. Ensure AI-supported work meets Gen’s standards for accuracy, privacy, brand integrity, intellectual property, legal review, and responsible use of company and customer information. About You You have substantial copywriting and creative concepting experience within an agency, in-house creative studio or consumer brand environment. You have experience operating at Associate Creative Director level or as a senior copy lead with responsibility for creative direction and team development. You can develop a creative platform from a brief and carry it consistently across channels. You have written across brand, product, advertising, digital, social and integrated campaigns. You are comfortable presenting creative work and recommendations to senior stakeholders. You have experience directing and reviewing the work of copywriters and other creative partners. You can balance creative ambition with commercial objectives, audience needs and delivery requirements. You are comfortable working with legal, compliance and other structured review processes. Experience within consumer technology, financial services, cybersecurity or another regulated industry would be useful, but is not required. You have a portfolio demonstrating both conceptual thinking and finished copy across different formats and channels. Skills Copywriting and editorial craft across long- and short-form content. Compensation The annual base salary for this position is expected to be $150,000–$162,000 USD. Base salary is one component of Gen’s total compensation package, which includes an annual bonus, 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance and unlimited paid time off. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills and competencies related to the role. Gen Benefits 401(k) retirement plan with company match – Gen matches 50% of the first 7% of eligible pay you contribute, capped at $6,000 per year in company match. Health Savings Account (HSA) funding – If you enroll in an HSA-eligible medical plan, Gen contributes $500–$1,500 per year depending on your coverage tier. Wellness / fitness reimbursement – Up to $375 per year reimbursed for eligible fitness and wellness expenses, including gym membership and classes. Sustainable home improvement allowance – Up to $500 per year for approved sustainable home upgrades, such as insulation and energy-efficient appliances.
