Key Responsibilities

• Administer competent respiratory care including aerosol medication delivery, oxygen therapy, breathing exercises, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, and arterial punctures
• Provide all aspects of airway management including aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations, and extubations
• Perform all aspects of ventilator care including setup, function verification, use of specialized ventilator modes, patient monitoring, and weaning techniques
• When assigned to air transport duties, may transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral facilities and perform advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, intraosseous insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring per established protocol
• When assigned to ECMO duties, may manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support of patients
• Function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other staff reflective of experience level

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• At least one of the following certifications required depending on practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or an advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in a Bronchoscopy Lab
• All certifications must be maintained as required by the certifying body
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures; strong communication and documentation skills required
