Internal Controls Manager

Location: California, USA (Global Technology Company) Job Summary The Internal Controls Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust internal control framework across the organization’s global operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, supports risk management initiatives, and enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes. The position partners closely with finance, IT, legal, and operational teams to promote a strong culture of accountability and control. Key Responsibilities Develops, implements, and continuously improves the company’s internal control framework in alignment with regulatory standards such as SOX compliance. Leads risk assessments to identify key financial, operational, and compliance risks across global business units. Designs and evaluates controls to mitigate identified risks and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. Oversees control testing programs, including planning, execution, and documentation of results. Collaborates with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address findings in a timely manner. Drives remediation efforts for control deficiencies and monitors progress to ensure sustainable resolution. Partners with cross-functional teams, including IT and Finance, to embed controls into business processes and system implementations. Provides guidance and training to stakeholders on internal control best practices and compliance requirements. Prepares reports and presents findings to senior leadership and audit committees. Stays current with evolving regulations, industry trends, and emerging risks impacting internal controls. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification preferred. 5-10 Years experience is preffered. Significant experience in internal controls, audit, or risk management, ideally within a global technology environment. Strong knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO). Proven ability to manage complex projects and work across multiple regions and functions.
