Behavioral Healthcare Provider 1 (LSW/LPC/MFT) Location: Pickaway Correctional Institution, 11781 State Route 762, Orient, OH 43146, United States Compensation: $57,000 (annual) Schedule: Full‑time Union: 1199 Mission The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is committed to reducing recidivism by providing rehabilitative treatment and programming in a safe, secure and humane correctional environment. The agency works to protect the public by helping individuals turn away from crime and become productive members of their communities. Responsibilities Member of an interdisciplinary mental health treatment team, providing assigned mental health interventions for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders. Conduct screenings, including detailed mental health screens and risk assessments with suicide watch when appropriate. Deliver individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed in each client’s treatment plan. Provide psychosocial group interventions and mental health liaison services to monitor offender progress. Complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning. Prepare transfer and discharge summaries. Consult with institution staff about the offender’s institutional adjustment and service needs. Initiate and maintain contact with families and community agencies. Gather and document information regarding patient care and treatment. Make community referrals in accordance with the mental health treatment team. Write reports, documentation, and electronic records of all inmate contacts, liaison progress notes, discharge plans, and other required forms. Attend supervision meetings and in‑service training sessions for professional development. May be assigned to teach in‑service training. Qualifications Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board. Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board. Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
