Job Title

Registered Nurse – Neuro PCU (IMC/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block | One holiday required per 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, and medical overflow
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and participate in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Administer medications including cardiac drips (no titration), IV therapy, and blood product administration; manage central and peripheral line care
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Monitor patients in dedicated continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring beds as assigned
• Float to other units within clinical skillset as required; maintain isolation precautions per protocol

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration
• Comfort with a patient ratio of 1:4–1:5

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Neuro PCU, IMC, or Stepdown unit setting
• Experience with neurosurgical recovery and stroke management protocols
