Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity seeks an experienced pharmacist to join a dynamic environment serving long-term care and mail order pharmacy needs. The role focuses on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care while ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards in medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications to patients.
• Monitor patient medication compliance, identifying over-usage and ensuring lawful medication distribution.
• Verify suitability of prescribed medications and maintain confidential patient records meticulously.
• Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer medication-related questions.
• Offer consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external/internal use and prepare sterile solutions following proper protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Pennsylvania pharmacy license is required.
• Experience in long-term care pharmacy is highly preferred.
• Mail order pharmacy experience is a plus.
• Sterile compounding experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication and leadership skills for staff supervision and patient interaction.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Rotating every 3rd Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This contract-to-hire position offers a 26-week initial assignment within a supportive LTC mail order pharmacy environment.
