Operation Manager

Location: Auburn Hills, Nearest Major Market: Detroit

The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of DSV's transportation and logistics division, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for managing staff, developing, and implementing operational policies and procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the transportation and logistics division, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to ensure that all team members are working effectively and efficiently.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including productivity, cost, and quality, and develop plans to improve performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied with the services provided.
• Collaborate with other departments, including sales and customer service, to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working together effectively.

Educational background / Work experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred. 5+ years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably in a supervisory or management role.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational issues and challenges.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in using transportation management software, such as TMS or WMS.
• Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies is a plus.

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes Supervisory Responsibilities (if any): This position will be responsible for managing a team of operations staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related field.
• Experience in international transportation and logistics management.
• Fluency in English (oral and written).
• Computer Literacy Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with transportation management software.

The expected base pay range is $84,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
