Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis or monitoring of various disease states. The role requires operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments, participation in quality control, and collaboration on procedure development. Candidates will process patient specimens, document and notify critical values, and adapt care methods to meet population-specific needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA 42 CFR 493.1489 requirements.
• Certification as MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS. If certification has an expiration date, it must be maintained and kept current.
• Blood Banking (Transfusion Service) skills required. SBB certification highly preferred.
• Graduates of NAACLS-accredited clinical laboratory training programs are acceptable. One year of approved clinical laboratory experience is required for non-new graduates and must include clinical rotations through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids within the last 5 years.
• New graduates must be board certified or board eligible and must complete board certification within one year of hire (Louisiana excluded).
• Demonstrated competence performing age- and population-specific laboratory responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• SBB certification in Blood Banking.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems and instrument troubleshooting/maintenance.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 06:30-15:00.
• Work schedule: Five days per week, 8 hours per day.
• Must cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed.
