Description


Performs work assigned related to successful completion of law enforcement Professional Peace Officer Education Program (PPOE). This position is a temporary position which will conclude upon the completion or un-enrollment in a law enforcement PPOE program. Work is performed under the supervision of a Sergeant and Public Safety Deputy Director.

Essential Functions

• Reads, learns and applies the laws, ordinances, policies, rules and other materials required to perform all assigned accountabilities of the position.
• Completes school coursework in a timely manner.
• Maintains passing scores in PPOE program.
• Maintains MN POST license eligibility.
• Represents the City of New Brighton in a professional manner.
• During school breaks provides assistance to agency as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelors Degree from a Regionally Credited College or University in any field of study
• Must Not Have Completed or Started a Minnesota PPOE Program or taken the MN POST Exam or MN POST Reciprocity Exam
• Valid Driver's License
• Meet Minimum POST Police Officer Eligibility Requirements
• Successfully Complete Background Investigation
• Successfully Complete Psychological Assessment
• Successfully Complete Physical Ability Assessment
• Successfully Complete Physical Assessment
