Lead, Global India Collective - State of Washington

The Global India Collective (GIC) brings together influential leaders to champion the Indian diaspora’s contributions, drive American prosperity, and strengthen the U.S.–India relationship for the benefit of the world. GIC is nonpartisan and focused on meaningful civic and community outcomes. The Indian American community is among the most accomplished in American life, with leaders across business, research, public service, and communities. Yet individual success has not always been translated into coordinated civic leadership. GIC is building the connective infrastructure to help close that gap. Washington State is central to this work. It is home to a large and accomplished Indian American community and to the Roundglass India Center at Seattle University. GIC – Washington will bring together leaders across business, government, academia, philanthropy, and community organizations to strengthen civic participation and build a model that can inform GIC’s work nationally. About the role The Lead, Global India Collective – Washington will build and lead GIC’s Washington presence, developing the statewide strategy, programs, partnerships, membership, and network needed to strengthen Indian American civic leadership and participation. The Lead will work closely with the Roundglass India Center at Seattle University on research, convenings, fellows programming, and other initiatives that advance understanding of India, the Indian diaspora, and the U.S.–India relationship. The role will also serve as a trusted representative of Gurpreet “Sunny” Singh , Founder of GIC and Roundglass, as well as help him prepare and coordinate his engagements across Washington and ensuring strong relationship management and follow-through. This is a builder role for someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, creating an institution from the ground up while building trusted relationships across Washington’s civic landscape. What you’ll do GIC Washington Strategy & Development Build GIC – Washington as a trusted statewide platform for Indian American civic leadership and engagement. Develop and execute the founding strategy, operating model, annual priorities, and measurable goals aligned with GIC’s national direction. Translate GIC’s mission into relevant statewide programs, partnerships, convenings, and leadership initiatives. Build the partnerships, membership base, and resources needed to support long-term sustainability. Lead fundraising, stakeholder cultivation, and engagement with prospective GIC members and supporters. Partner with the Roundglass India Center at Seattle University on research, convenings, fellows programming, and aligned initiatives. Track progress against strategic priorities and provide regular updates on outcomes, challenges, and opportunities. Principal Advisory & Civic Engagement Serve as a trusted advisor to Mr. Singh on civic, community, and institutional engagement across Washington. Plan and coordinate his participation in community, civic, academic, business, and public events. Prepare briefing materials, talking points, background notes, correspondence, and follow‑up actions for key engagements. Ensure engagements are well prepared, purposeful, and connected to broader GIC priorities. Maintain continuity across important stakeholder relationships and ensure timely follow‑through. Represent Mr. Singh and GIC professionally when delegated to do so. Ensure activities remain consistent with GIC’s nonpartisan mission and applicable requirements. Civic Leadership & Public Service Map and cultivate the ecosystem of Indian American civic and public‑service leaders across Washington. Maintain a landscape of civic leaders, public servants, appointees, and individuals interested in public service, including their experience, interests, and community networks. Build relationships with individuals interested in contributing through public service, boards, commissions, civic institutions, and community leadership. Track Washington’s public service, civic leadership, boards, commissions, and appointment landscape to identify opportunities for greater community participation. Develop leadership programs, mentoring opportunities, and convenings that strengthen the pipeline of future civic leaders. Connect emerging leaders with relevant institutions, networks, and learning opportunities in a neutral and nonpartisan manner. Statewide Community & Institutional Engagement Build trusted relationships across Washington’s Indian American and broader civic community. Develop partnerships with community organizations, business associations, universities, philanthropic organizations, civic institutions, and other stakeholders. Build relationships with state, county, and municipal leaders, public agencies, and Washington’s congressional delegation across the political spectrum. Represent GIC at public events, community gatherings, institutional meetings, and other forums. Convene listening sessions, roundtables, and small‑group discussions that surface community priorities and inform GIC’s statewide agenda. Build mechanisms for ongoing engagement and a durable statewide network. Communications & Reporting Manage internal updates on GIC – Washington’s priorities and initiatives. Partner with GIC communications colleagues and external partners on public messaging, digital engagement, and stakeholder communications. Maintain accurate records of key relationships, engagements, commitments, and follow‑up actions through appropriate CRM and stakeholder‑management systems. Develop executive‑ready briefings, presentations, and reports. Establish clear measures of success and track progress against GIC – Washington’s goals and priorities. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in political science, Public Policy, Communications, International Relations, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. 8-10 years of public affairs, government, civic engagement, community leadership, nonprofit leadership, institutional relations, or related fields. Demonstrated experience launching, building, or scaling a civic, nonprofit, public affairs, or community initiative. Strong experience developing and managing senior stakeholder networks across government, business, academia, philanthropy, and community organizations. Strong knowledge of Washington State’s civic, governmental, business, and community landscape, with an established network across relevant institutions and the ability to build credibility within the Indian American community. Experience working with elected officials, public agencies, community leaders, and other senior stakeholders in a professional and nonpartisan environment. Experience advising or staffing senior executives, founders, public figures, or organizational leaders for high‑profile engagements. Strong organizational management, program development, budgeting, and fiscal discipline. Familiarity with nonprofit governance and nonpartisan civic engagement requirements. Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to quickly develop briefing materials and executive updates. Strong judgment, discretion, diplomacy, and attention to detail. Ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and hands‑on execution. Availability for frequent evening and weekend engagements and travel throughout Washington State. Demonstrated commitment to strengthening civic participation and Indian American engagement in public and community life through nonpartisan approaches. Proficiency with CRM systems, Google Workspace, Zoom, and digital communication tools. The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000-$150,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as level, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be a bonus.
