Job Summary Ingersoll Rand’s Compression Systems and Services Customer Center is hiring an Account Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the Customer Center equipment sales and service activity for a specific territory in the Region. Traveling in a defined geographic area, this includes quoting, strategizing, prospecting, and developing relationships to achieve revenue targets, maximize profits, increase market share, and maintain customer loyalty while achieving organizational goals. The position is a unique blend of supporting a major distributor and selling direct to customers. Responsibilities Generate Revenue – responsible for generating sales of equipment, service contracts, and service offerings with direct end users and partners, selling to a defined customer base within a geographic area; develop existing customer base and secure new, competitive accounts to expand Ingersoll Rand presence in the market; provide and design compressed air solutions to fulfill industrial customer needs. Develop People Capabilities – provide selling skills and product/service training for dealer sales personnel (as required) and personnel within the Customer Center; partner with services team to best understand products and services and satisfy and anticipate customer needs. Manage Cash – ensure all orders obtained are error‑free with correct customer documentation, resolve customer disputes, manage costs associated with selling efforts including travel and entertainment spending. Ensure adherence to safety rules – vehicle safety, customer site safety in the field, and in the Customer Center. Earn Customer loyalty – collaborate cross‑functionally and leverage best support, partnering with service team to troubleshoot customer issues or offer unique solutions. Maintain Customer Relationship Management database – record face‑to‑face interactions, assets, agreements, contacts, opportunities; track sales pipeline and provide daily reporting. Requirements High school diploma or GED Bachelor's Degree 4+ years of experience in an industrial sales business setting or successful completion of the Ingersoll Rand Sales Development Program (SDP). Core Competencies Excellent relationship‑building and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Establishes and builds solid relationships with customers, key institutions, and team members. Honest, self‑motivated and team‑oriented. Able to work within a team environment and independently. Mechanical and electrical expertise required. Ability to assess customer needs, interpret data, and recommend technical solutions. Tech savvy; knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software preferred. Proven business and sales acumen, including prospecting accounts, navigating customer organization, value selling, and winning competitive accounts. Excellent prioritization and time‑management skills. Preferences Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent. Knowledge of Salesforce. Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements Regional travel to customer sites is required within assigned geographic territory. Must possess a valid driver's license for at least 12 months and no major frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI in the past 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, multiple minor infractions in the past 3 years). A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. The total pay range for this role, including incentive opportunities, is $60,000 - $160,000. The disclosed range is not adjusted for geographic differential and is subject to change based on factors such as skills, experience, and organizational needs.
