QC (Sit-Down Forklift Operator) - 1st shift

Shift Schedule Monday - Friday 5:00am-3:30pm Pay $18.00 hourly Effective April 6, all new Material Handlers and Material Handler Leads will participate in a four-step wage progression program; eligible employees receive an automatic $0.50 hourly increase every 90 days over a one-year period. Job Purpose The Quality Control Associate performs quality control (QC) functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying mispicks and misplaced cases. The associate works with Inventory Control Clerks to correct errors and rebuild pallets. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Review individual orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and general accuracy of selected orders. Complete required level of QC sampling and required load audit forms. Consult with appropriate Supervisor regarding any problems identified in the QC process including quality issues not meeting standards and/or potential safety issues. Coach selectors on job quality and efficiency. Other duties and special projects as requested. Maintain good attendance. Maintain safe work practices. Maintain safeguards of confidential company information. Investigate customer complaints with the Supervisor. Perform driver check‑in duties by reviewing customer invoices for accuracy. Evaluate product returns and determine if product is suitable for return. Additional Responsibilities Assist in training Inventory Control Clerks. Process damaged material, ensure returned goods are properly inventoried, and monitor suspense inventory to resolve all items. Maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by reporting incorrect practices to leadership. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Use computer terminals to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum of six months to one year of experience in a QC role and/or product knowledge. Experience with WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access. Must have Sit‑Down Forklift experience. Education And/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Read and write emails. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets. Forklift certification a plus. Language Skills Sets Effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Resolve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating and interpreting reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons. Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others. Work in an indoor/office environment with repetitive hand motion. Talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently. Work more than continuous 8 hours when required. Work under stressful situations, maintain cognitive skills, work accuracy, and concentration on multiple tasks. Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision. Speak and communicate clearly over telephones. Maintain sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of controlled‑substance use. Work Environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
