This role is ideal for someone eager to grow within NCAA rowing while playing a pivotal role in recruiting, mentoring, and leading student-athletes toward competitive success. To that end, all University employees are required to be aligned with and supportive of SPU's Statement of Faith and its derivative policies and lifestyle expectations.What You’ll Do:Lead, mentor, and support student-athletes with integrity and enthusiasmRecruit prospective student-athletes both from high schools and from the on-campus communityInstruct rowing fundamentals and foster development of novice rowers into varsity contributorsCollaborate with the Head Coach and other staff to deliver safe, successful team experiencesAssist with administrative tasks and logistical operationsParticipate in spring travel and weekend events as requiredHelp with rowing equipment maintenance and boathouse upkeepRepresent SPU Athletics with professionalism and positivityWhat You Bring:Education: Bachelor’s degree requiredExperience: Experience with a competitive collegiate rowing program (as athlete or coach)Skills & Characteristics:Strong interpersonal and leadership abilitiesInitiative and commitment to athlete development and recruitmentEnthusiasm for collaborative team culture and student mentorshipInterest in learning and growing as a collegiate coachCertifications (or willingness to obtain post-hire with SPU support):CPR CertificationWashington State Boater’s LicenseWashington State Driver’s LicenseUSRowing Level 2 CertificationMission Alignment: You have a personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission , alignment with the University's Statement of Faith , and willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.Appointment Details:Salary Range: $25,000 - $31,000 annually for 10 month appt, DOEPosition Type: Part-Time, ExemptHours: Approx. 19 hours per week; mornings preferredStart Date: Mid SeptemberEnd Date: Mid JuneWhy SPU?Seattle Pacific University’s beautiful campus is nestled in North Queen Anne, just minutes from downtown Seattle.
