Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center is family owned and operated, having served our community with dignity, compassion, and care for over 70 years. We pride ourselves on guiding families through their most difficult moments with a warm, steady, and professional presence.
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Receptionist to serve as the comforting first point of contact for grieving families and visitors. In this role, you will manage front-desk operations with grace, handle incoming inquiries with sensitivity, and provide essential clerical support to our licensed funeral directors and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome families, visitors, and vendors with deep empathy, poise, and absolute discretion.
- Answer, screen, and route multi-line phone calls with a calm, clear, and professional demeanor.
- Maintain tidy, serene, and welcoming public reception and viewing areas at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in customer service, hospitality, or front-desk administration.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and a naturally gentle phone manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and a calming presence.
