Payroll Processing Specialist

Ledgent is partnering with a valued client in the Clearwater/Feather Sound area to identify an experienced Payroll Processing Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional seeking long-term career growth with a stable and highly regarded organization. This position will begin as an on-site role, providing the opportunity to collaborate closely with the payroll and HR teams. Upon successful conversion to a permanent employee, there may be the opportunity to transition into a hybrid work schedule based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume, multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit withholdings for accuracy.
• Process employee changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and compensation adjustments.
• Audit payroll data and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll transmission.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Process garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other payroll deductions.
• Research and resolve payroll-related questions from employees and management.
• Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end accounting functions.
• Support quarterly and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll tax reporting.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data within ADP Workforce Now.
• Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.

Required Qualifications Must-Have Experience

• Minimum 3 years of recent high-volume, multi-state payroll processing experience.
• Hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience is required.
• Experience processing payroll for large employee populations in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance requirements.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, filtering, and report analysis.
• Experience reconciling payroll reports and auditing payroll data.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
