The Executive Chef serves as the culinary and cultural anchor of Double Knot NYC - a multi‑level, immersive restaurant featuring sushi, robatayaki, and modern Japanese‑inspired cuisine. This leader will oversee all culinary operations, drive consistency across multiple production environments, and uphold the elevated standards that define the Double Knot brand. It is a high‑visibility role within a nationally recognized, rapidly expanding hospitality group, and a rare opportunity to steward a flagship Manhattan opening.

• Oversee all culinary operations across sushi, robata, and hot kitchen stations with precision and consistency.

• Ensure flawless execution of Double Knot’s chef‑driven menu, maintaining the highest standards of quality, technique, and presentation.

• Lead menu development, seasonal changes, and long‑term culinary strategy in partnership with senior leadership.

• Maintain a composed, polished presence during service, modeling excellence and professionalism.

• Recruit, train, and mentor a large BOH team, fostering a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and growth.

• Build strong leadership within sous chefs, sushi leads, and station chefs to ensure depth and stability across all departments.

• Implement systems for training, performance management, and ongoing skill development.

• Manage food cost, labor, inventory, and vendor relationships with disciplined oversight.

• Develop and maintain systems that support consistency, efficiency, and high‑volume execution.

• Collaborate closely with FOH leadership to ensure seamless alignment between kitchen operations and guest experience.

• Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with NYC regulations.

• Partner with senior leadership on long‑term planning, operational growth, and market‑specific opportunities.

• Drive innovation while protecting brand integrity and maintaining Double Knot’s elevated culinary identity.

• Serve as a key representative of the brand, embodying professionalism, hospitality, and excellence.

• 5–7+ years of senior culinary leadership experience in upscale, fine‑dining, or high‑volume chef‑driven environments.

• Strong technical foundation in Japanese cuisine, sushi, robata, or modern Asian flavors highly preferred.

• Proven ability to lead large teams with clarity, confidence, and high expectations.

• Demonstrated success managing cost, systems, and high‑volume operations.

• Exceptional communication skills and a calm, solutions‑oriented leadership style.

• Experience opening restaurants or leading multi‑level concepts strongly valued.

• Prior NYC experience preferred.
