AV Engineering Specialist

The AV Engineering Specialists supports the technical operations of Facilities Management by ensuring the reliable performance of the institutional cable and IPTV, Free to Guest and On Demand TV systems, and audiovisual control systems. As part of a service‑focused technical environment, the AV Engineering Specialists plays a key role in maintaining and designing the audio/video capabilities for classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, and institutional events. The AV Engineering Specialists works closely with internal teams and clients to deliver dependable operational support. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience as an AV technician/field engineer and the ability to manage projects and complex timelines. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot enterprise‑level audio‑visual systems is essential. AMX, Crestron, or QSYS programming experience is recommended. Detail‑oriented, skilled in audiovisual systems, and experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting videoconference, multimedia, or broadcast technologies. A background in installing or operating cable TV, control systems, or related equipment is valuable, as are certifications in audiovisual technologies or electronics. Strong customer service skills and experience supporting live events are required. Salary Range: $60,500 – $75,500 – $90,500 Typical Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am–5 pm; some after‑hours and occasional weekend work may occur. Key Responsibilities Provide technical knowledge and skills required to support project management, operations, and maintenance of cable TV, RF & IPTV, FTG, and On Demand TV equipment, multimedia streaming video, AV control systems, and related equipment to meet manufacturer, FCC, and Avixa industry standards. Manage audio‑visual, broadcast, and conferencing support; maintain and design audio‑visual solutions for institutional and event operations clients. Maintain, commission, install, configure, troubleshoot, and support audio‑visual systems for institutional and event operations clients. Operate all audio‑visual equipment and systems efficiently during daily TOC and event operations activities. Provide television engineering support for television productions, including UTTV, Creative Services, and event operations productions. Assist management team with assigned tasks and projects as required. Drive innovation and provide deeper technical capability to the team with broad, field‑engineer‑level experience. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Associate's Degree in Electronics discipline. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics discipline. Required: 7 years of relevant experience, OR 5 years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree, OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree. Preferred Certifications: Certified Broadcast Television Engineer (CBTE), Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI), Avixa CTS, CTS‑I, CTS‑D, Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, and Q‑Sys Lua programming. Strong customer service skills and experience supporting live events. Extensive experience as an AV technician/field engineer with project management and advanced troubleshooting capabilities. Licenses and Certifications Certified Broadcast Television Engineer (CBTE) Certification by the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) as a Senior Broadcast Television Engineer. Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI) from the Society of Cable Television Engineers (SCTE) as a Senior Cable Technician. Avixa CTS, CTS‑I, CTS‑D and other related AV certifications. Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, and Q‑Sys Lua programming.
